ANILINE
LEATHERS

Did you know that aniline-dyed leather owes its name to the process?

The leather is only dyed with aniline dyes. The most purest leather is aniline leather. This is the reason that “Beauty Marks” (scars, tics, grow lines Etc.) are still visible.

In the old days hides were tanned (preserved) with Oak bark; as oak bark is filled with tanine. Tanine is used to preserve the hide from rotting.
