LOOK. TOUCH. SMELL AND BE INSPIRED
BACK TO BASIC
We would like to introduce you to our Green Leather collection. Unique types of leather, tanned with organic material from olive leaves, 100% ecological! The extracts from olive leaves make the leather feel soft, dirt repellent and hydrates intensive and prolonged. The leather is better for our health in use, biodegradable and does not leave any toxic trace in nature.
Our articles Olivia, Olivette & Oliveto are inspired by an age-old tanning process. Before the 19th century, one tanned with oak bark. This bark contains tannin and protects a tree from insect pest and bacterial attack. During the current tanning process, exactly the same happens; The skin is treated by certain minerals or chemicals, which makes the proteins in the skin insoluble and the skin can be preserved in a beautiful natural state. Thanks to the combination of old tanning techniques and modern science it has been possible to tan with olive leaves for several years. This has resulted in a beautifully robust, natural, aluminum and chrome-free leather. The leather of the future; Pure, honest and durable!
Conanti Green Leather is tanned in Europe on South German bull skins. Only fresh, unsalted skins are used for the production of Green Leather, which at the same time avoids water contamination by salt waste residues.
During the tanning process of Olivia, Olivette & Oliveto, the tannery uses the 100% natural wet-green® tanning technique to tan free from chemicals, ie chrome and aluminum. Wet-green® is an award-winning tanning technology based on olive leaf extract.
This new discovery in tanning technology has opened doors to produce leather from the best quality based on re-usable natural raw materials. A whole new development in the area of sustainability.
The wet-green® tanning agent is similarly prepared from olive leaves as natural tea extract. This extract is obtained by using olive leaves which is a by-product of the olive industry. Traditionally, olive leaves were burned after harvest. By developing the new tanning technique with olive leaf extract, a large number of inhabitants of the Mediterranean countries provide work and the tanning process and final product are more friendly to our health and the environment.
The advantage of the tanning process with olive leaves makes the leather biodegradable. Wet-green® has received a cradle-to-cradle ™ GOLD certificate for producing biological degradable leather.
Green Leather has a refreshing scent and pleasant touch. A unique product for the leather lover!
